Our recent 2024 Build to Rent Report included a list and analysis of the highest-rated BTR communities by Facilities rating. We looked at the top-performing schemes for this category and also compared them with the 10 lowest-rated communities. Here, we take a look at the facilities common to the highest/lowest-rated communities, and explore the full top-rated list.
Facilities offered by the 10 highest/lowest rated BTR communities by Facilities score (2023)
As the graphic below shows, the facilities associated with the most Top 10-rated communities in 2023 were Lounge, Coworking Spaces, Gym and Pet Friendly. Although half of the lowest-rated schemes also included a Lounge, only two included a gym – regularly shown by our data to be a very important facility for resident satisfaction.

Top 10 BTR communities by Facilities rating (2023)
Our 2024 Build to Rent Report included a list of the top-rated BTR communities based solely on Facilities ratings in 2023 (min. 10 reviews). Click through to read reviews and see what residents are talking about in their reviews for these highly successful schemes.
Situated in the heart of Cardiff, Verse blends work and play with Cardiff’s vibrant arts, music and cultural district. Residents gave the facilities a flawless 5* rating in 2023, proving that a huge list of amenities is less important than offering those most valued by residents, and running them well.
The Keel sits in Queen’s Dock, Liverpool and received a 4.97 Facilities rating in 2023. This community is another example of how offering residents a focused selection of the most-valued amenities and operating them effectively is a surefire route to high ratings.
Erie Dock Apartments, or Eda for short, also boasted a 4.97 Facilities rating in 2023. Currently highest-rated of all developments in the competitive Salford region, Eda is one to watch when it comes to keeping residents happy.
A remarkable 4.96 Facilities rating in 2023 secures this multi-award-winning scheme from Dandara Living a place in this list. Currently top-rated in Aberdeen – our highest-rated location in the UK in 2023.
Bloom Nine Elms, by Greystar, offers a selection of studio to 3 bedroom apartments in a prime Zone 1 London location. It received an average 4.94 Facilities rating from residents in 2023.
Next up is Hairpin House by ila, with a 4.93 Facilities rating in 2023. As with many of these communities, residents praise the management of facilities as much, if not more, than the facilities themselves.
The McEwan is located in the heart of Fountainbridge, just a few minutes’ walk away from Haymarket Train Station. Its 4.93 Facilities rating in 2023 secures its place in this list.
The Quarters Swiss Cottage accommodates 102 self-contained spacious units for short-term stays. Residents enjoy on-site facilities such as gym, communal lounge and communal gardens.
The Whitmore Collection is a development offering a range of 1 & 2 bedroom canal-side apartments and townhouses. Residents enjoy facilities including a residents’ courtyard, gym, a clubhouse and private dining room, earning the scheme a 4.90 Facilities rating in 2023.
Located on Suffolk Queensway in central Birmingham, Aston Place offers residents a comprehensive range of facilities that are carefully managed by the award winning on-site team – as evidenced by its strong Facilities rating of 4.89 in 2023.
