Recent data from Rightmove shows that house prices in Yorkshire and the Humber averaged around £234,000 last year (to October 2024). But how does this compare to other regions, and are there differences between the counties? Regarding neighbouring areas, prices are slightly lower than the North West (£241,000) and cheaper than the East Midlands (£262,000).

Comparing the counties, South Yorkshire offered the most affordable housing (£206,000). With an average of around £283,000, North Yorkshire properties are significantly pricier. Overall, terraced and semi-detached homes went for around £171,000 and £221,000, respectively. During the same period, detached properties achieved £389,000 on average.
