Well managed but not worth the money

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Currently surrounded by building sites, the parking has not been thought about and the builders park their cars on the pavement and leave rubbish everywhere. Lots of anti social behaviour and burglaries. The rent has gone in by huge amount in our time here which i know has led to other residents leaving, the value of the flats in this location is not equal to what we are paying.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Always very timely and helpful, either helping themselves or if not pointing in the right direction.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known about the planned renovation in the area and all the road closures and disruption that have come with it.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

- Close to the city centre with good transport links and access to hospitality - New developments that are being built locally cause issues with litter, parking and the builders have no care for the local area

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

- Liaised inter apartments when we have had water leaks

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

- That the railway was close by, and trains stop outside the apartment all day and night

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is quiet and very close to the city centre - about 15 minute walk to Victoria. Regular car crime in the area and often see cars parked on street with windows smashed (Emmeline has secure parking so not an issue for residents in the building). There’s a lot of litter in the local area which is frustrating. It’s caused by construction workers who use surrounding roads for parking. Also the area is a flytipping hotspot.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes as mentioned above, had a few issues with leaks over the years which management always resolved quickly. Management always seem happy to help with anything as best they can.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Just issues in with litter and flytipping in local area - not the fault of building management in any way but still frustrating to live amongst.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There is currently a lot of building work going on so the access to dalton street is not as easy as it once was. However this work has got rid of an area where travellers lived which is great for the area. Parking at the apartment is great though

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

David sorts everything and raising issues quickly!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The gates can lock trapping you in the car park but for no longer than 10mins

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Living in a vibrant community has its perks and pitfalls. On the bright side, the local area is bustling with a variety of shops, restaurants, and bars, offering everything from artisan coffee to international cuisine. There's an abundance of open spaces, perfect for weekend picnics or morning jogs. Transport links are generally good, with reliable bus and train services connecting to the broader city and beyond. However, there are some drawbacks. Parking can be a nightmare, especially during peak hours, as spaces are limited and often taken up quickly. Bin collections are regular, but the streets sometimes get messy between pickups. There's occasional anti-social behavior late at night, particularly on weekends, which can be a disturbance. Traffic noise is another issue, with busy roads contributing to a never-ending hum that one might need to get used to.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management has been highly responsive and efficient in addressing any problems I've raised. They typically respond to inquiries or issues within 24 hours, ensuring that any necessary repairs or maintenance tasks are scheduled and completed promptly. Their proactive approach in resolving issues has contributed significantly to a satisfactory living experience.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing I wish I had known before moving in is the extent of the parking issue on the streets around the development. During the viewing, the focus was more on the interior and the amenities within the building, and less on the practical day-to-day aspects like parking. It turns out that street parking is quite competitive, especially during evenings and weekends. This can be a significant inconvenience, particularly for those who rely on their vehicle daily. For new neighbors, I would recommend exploring alternative parking options, such as nearby paid parking facilities or securing a reserved spot within the development if available. It's also helpful to get familiar with the peak times when parking is hardest to find, and plan your schedule around those if possible. This insight would definitely make settling into the new home smoother and less stressful.
