Building management is ok - no problems so far

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It’s not fully developed yet so there are shops and facilities yet to be built. Currently there’s a Tesco express down the road which is very handy but it would benefit from another local shop. Parking and road layout is annoying because you can only get one car down the road at a time.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I have had no problems as yet so can’t comment on this

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It is quite a lively and noisy neighbourhood, I think because it’s typically younger families and couples

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The development is situated in North Yate which is a nice area, but it is far from the town centre. The people who live here are nice and there is a community feel. The park that has been built recently looks nice. However, the building work is unbearable, I know it is as to be expected when buying a new build. But, when I purchased my plot I was assured that the building traffic was going to move further away soon. This has not happened and the road outside my home is used as a builders race track. The only time I get peace is on a Sunday as the constant noise is extreme. This has been exasperated by Lockdown as we have been working from home. The roads into the development are a shambles, you may as well be driving over the surface of the moon. The parking isn’t great.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Most were dealt with with no issues. However, some required stern words to get them sorted. I had a bad leak in the roof of the building which ruined my bathroom ceiling and was causing water to drip through the ceiling. This took 2+ weeks to have fixed and they left the scaffolding up outside my window for months after.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Think carefully about what plot you pick and how close it is to the main building traffic. If you don’t work form home this won’t be such an issue though.

Peaceful development with no facilities or parking

Drew (Tenant)

Sept 2021

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There is absolutely no facilities locally aside from kids play parks. Nearest shop is a 20 minute walk. Train station is 40 minute walk, town centre is 40 minute walk. Bus timetable is every 2hrs and no bus to train station. Bin collection always unreliable. But it is very peaceful and close to countryside. But having a car is essential.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How bad public transport is in the area! And the layout of the houses results in a total loss of privacy. You can see into at least 2-3 hours from every window.
