Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location of the site is very good with easy access by road to nearby villages of Tutbury and Hilton and Burton on Trent and Derby (about 20 mins away). The area is served by 3 supermarkets in the villages with a larger range of shops around 4-5 miles away. There is a good road network to access local towns, the M1 and East Midlands airport. There are plenty of open spaces around the development and the Peak District National Park is not far. Hatton has a train station and a good bus service and the area caters well for everyday needs. There are several JI schools in the area and the development is within a 5 minute drive to doctors, dentist, optician and chemists. There are free car parking facilities in the village and an excellent rubbish collection service, operatives are friendly, prompt and tidy.

Because of Covid we could not view the site or the property beforehand and it wasn't until we moved in that we realised our furniture was not going to fit (even though we move from a 3 bed to a 4 bed house). With hindsight we wonder whether we should have chosen a house with a larger footprint and more space downstairs.

What is the best feature of your home:

The top floor bedroom sold the house and has provided useful and much needed storage space.

Lovely location and close to shops etc bus routes are close by and also pubs and pahramcy and posto office.

I wish I had a viewing before buying as the house is alot smaller than anticipated.

Best feature is my on suite. Powerful shower......

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Shops are reasonably close by because we drive at present but could become problematic with age. There are no near local restaurants. The transport links appear to be good no haven’t used them yet. Living on the street at the present time is not too bad but we have had months of disruption, dirt, noise and the bumps in the road when the heavy lorries crossed at speed made the house shake. Traffic is busy at times but people are calling to view the remaining properties for sale so that will settle with time. Bin collection good. The biggest problem we have is our garden. It’s somewhat of a disgrace the way the turf was laid over rubble and in our case manholes. We have reported it and someone came and rolled it but it’s no different uneven grass not growing stones poking through. Just a mess

Actual size of rooms with furniture in situ. The slap happy way our outsize space lawn etc was left. We had no input on the type of plants that were put on our front space

I’m trying to decide what features are best and none springs to mind right now

Great place, strong community, good location with lots accessable

The location of our house is perfect and its been warm for the winter.

Not an awful lot of choice for shops, pubs, cafes, restaurants but plenty of brilliant options in the next village. Our street is fantastic, all our neighbors are so lovely. We have no noise issues, can't even hear the building works.

I wish id known that the only WiFi we were able to get was BT.

What is the best feature of your home:

We absolutely love our private driveway and how much space we have, being at the end our garden is huge and perfect for us.
