A family friendly estate in the making

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

We are in the early stages of the development so shops, play facilities etc have not yet been built. However the plans for these look fantastic and we are excited to see it develop. Parking is ample and road widths are very good for a new development. Transport links have not yet been put in place which doesn’t currently affect us but it can be frustrating that the only way on and off of the estate safely is to drive. There is a really strong community spirit already, it’s a very friendly place to live.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The response to snags and concerns has not been quick. We have had to chase a few times to try and get issues resolved and we have outstanding snags that need addressing. However, we have no reason to believe these snags will not be rectified.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That leaving the estate safely, particularly with children, will require the use of a car.

Great top notch development to move into

Patricia L (Owner)

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It’s still quite new and the development is still missing some key areas such as shops but so far, all the available facilities are top notch - the school is really nice, the bun collection works perfectly and the area is really safe, with a very good neighbourhood environment

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Haven’t had any issues to report so far, therefore did not contact property management

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There’s nothing in particular that I wish I knew before I moved in.

So fast so good . Everything is within a 10 minute drive . There are no buses yet but they are planning on improving this

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

There have been some snags which we are awaiting to be resolved

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Ensure that you have a car as the bus links are not great.

Ups and downs, Chilmington Gate is a promising estate moving forward but there’s much need for improvement.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It’s a very new development so at the moment there are no shops or leisure activities anywhere on the estate. The convenience is decent in my own personal experience because both myself and my wife drive and access to the nearest ‘A road’ is very easy and we are close to the main town and local motorway. Living on our street is great. Parking is plenty, neighbours are friendly and quiet, the bins are collected every week and we have no trouble with anti social behaviour or littering.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very slowly. There’s a lack of organisation to booking appointments and then slow in actually getting things done. We also moved in where both boilers were out of date (were due a service 6 months before we moved it), and they still haven’t resolved this for us. Photo attached of the boiler for reference.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

A main part of us buying this house on this development is because we were choosing the local school for our daughter to start at. The development promised the school that a road and a footpath to the school would be ready to use from the estate however my daughter has been at the school now since September and apparently now the estate have said the path won’t be ready for months because of “a lack of sales”.
