Lovely place to live

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Brilliant local coffee shop and very handy to have a convenience store. Within walking distance of a district shopping centre and lots of open and green spaces as well as being extremely close to a narrow reserve. Lots of parking spaces but many pavements and roads unfinished.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Various tradesmen and handymen were brought in to complete jobs in our house, some several times as issues were not finished to a satisfactory standard.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It is a really friendly neighbourhood to live in and there is a lovely sense of community.

Tadpole Garden Village - a wonderful place…..when it’s finally finished!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The open spaces are fantastic with plenty of parks and green spaces in the village and nature reserves and countryside on the edge of the village. Local business include a shop, barbers, cafe and hairdressers which is sufficient for the size of village. There is still one retail unit remaining and a takeaway restaurant would suit that well. There are two primary schools and a secondary school and a medical centre opening soon which is fantastic.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very well however as stated previously a lot of the issues are out of their hands and lie squarely on the developers.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

A finish date for the roads etc as we could have then held the developers to something!

Our great little ‘Village’

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Tadpole Garden Village is a really nice new housing estate. The planners obviously thought about how people are going to live i.e. provision of pub and shops etc.. rather than just building another housing estate which relies on all the other existing local amenities. The properly management company aren’t always the most helpful, however, as soon as Crest have moved off site, hopefully this can be tendered for.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They acknowledge issues, they're just really slow in sorting them out.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

This area uses BT FTTP, which is basically fibre to the house. This is great for internet speeds, however, when we moved in, there was only one team in BT that knew anything about the technology meaning it took a long time to get internet in the house.

The design of the village is good

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The Sainsbury’s local is a great asset to the village and is well used. It’s lovely to have a coffee shop too! Tadpole Garden Village has some lovely open spaces which are great for dog walks/ taking a stroll. The parking is good on the street and it’s very rare that all the visitor bays are taken up. Bin collections are good however the bin men can sometimes be a little careless in emptying the recycling with rubbish getting left behind. The street is quiet.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Slowly and not always sorted things. I have had to arrange some works that should of been included in the snagging.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I feel very safe walking around the village. I wish I had done a bit more research on the developers and residents experiences.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good points- good location with lots of shopping and amenities close by, good schools. Pub has started to be built to open next year which will be good for the development. Bad points- not enough visitor parking or pathways for walking

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I have had very good aftercare from David Wilson and they’ve been helpful when I have contacted them.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How long it would take to get a proper road surface on the road that leads to my house. I’ve been lucky with no punctures but my neighbours have had several due to raised ironworks mainly.
