Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Calderwood area is well located with regular bus links (every 30 mins) to both livingston and Edinburgh. The area is next to the almondell Country park and also has several play parks for the kids. The development has plans to include shops and local amenities and has built a new primary school. The neighbourhood is friendly, lots of parking and no problems with noise.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We got our flooring done by external company and cost half the price as David Wilson charge.

What is the best feature of your home:

We love the layout of our house with wide hallway and landing. The kitchen/diner is open plan with large bay windows. Offers utility and more storage than many other new builds. We

Access to green spaces for walking and biking is great. Good transport links to get anywhere in Central Scotland easily. Neighbours in street are excellent and everybody looks out for each other if needed.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The good - great location with good public transport into Edinburgh, a couple of nice play parks for the children, lovely cafe within Calderwood and a fab pub a 20min walk into East Calder. Good parking on our street with bays for visitors, bin collections frequent. Mostly families with young kids live here and it is a lovely community. The bad - the factor is pretty poor at maintaining the landscaping within the development and a lot of it is overgrown.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Although DWH build houses to a very high standard and fixed everything we pointed out as snagging, it is worth getting a professional snagging company in for peace of mind that everything has been identified.

What is the best feature of your home:

We have a very spacious plot so love our garden and how the house sits back a bit from the road.
