Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The developer has bought quality homes to Annesley. Annesley has that community spirit with close by local pubs, shops and restaurants. It has also good transport links to the M1 motorway. The designer homes are very well constructed, energy efficient and quality. The homes came with a lot of extras included in the purchase price ( floor tiles, carpets, very high standard internal doors & architraves, double ovens and white goods) but you could also upgrade almost to anything. We have off road parking and garage to the rear and a very good size garden which was a nice surprise. Lawns all turfed as opposed to seeded and plants/hedges surrounding the property to a good standard. Site manager needs a mention. Gavin Brothers. Absolute quality and a credit to the Taggarts & nothing been to much trouble for him to put things right that do go wrong on a new development in the middle of a pandemic. Groan bits With the properties nothing. Yes some snags but they do get sorted. ADC we feel have slightly spoilt the development by it seems ( we maybe wrong ?) enforcing section 106 whereas affordable housing( 10% on most new developments has to be affordable) is allocated to “ social housing companies like PA housing “ ( 8 houses instead of 4 or 5 ) instead of keeping them affordable for local young Annesley/Nottinghamshire people that want quality homes, work and want to get on the property ladder. Paid an estate management fee and freeholders have worst rights than leaseholders it seems with lots of weeds on some homes not being cleared. Not had any letters or introductions from estate management & believe developer is still maintaining the site. Estate agent ( Pygott & Crone ) simply awful and wouldn’t do business with them again. Told us affordable housing would be “ twilight generation “ carefully vetted” & got the complete opposite!!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Social housing not affordable housing.

What is the best feature of your home:

Kitchen with polished floors, integral white goods and cupboard.

Beautiful homes, shame about the small things

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I have lived in Annesley all my life so when the opportunity came to buy a new “designer” home in the area, we jumped at it. The build quality and design of these homes is fantastic and we love our new home. However, The selling agent Pygott & Crone we’re nothing but a nightmare! They told us bare faced lies from start to finish and made our experience of buying our first home awful! It’s such a shame that this company was given the opportunity to sell these beautiful homes as they have tainted the whole estate. They also sold several house to the housing association after telling us directly that this wouldn’t happen. We’ve had regular police presence, people with vans parking away from their social homes (probably because they aren’t supposed to be living there) making it difficult for residents getting on and off their drives. There is a general smell of cannabis lingering around the whole estate and several drug deals already been witnessed by us home owners. These houses were sold to us as “designer” homes yet this again tainted by some of the residents that’s been able to move in.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I was told that several houses were being sold to the housing association. I feel sorry for the poor owners living opposite.

What is the best feature of your home:

The quality and the build and size of the garden really sets it above the rest.
