Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Good range of open spaces, and selection of local shops. Few good pubs about too. The street is lovely, my only bug bear is that some residents park their cars on the pavement, and they happen to live on the bend as you drive on.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Redrow customer service have been great in trying to resolve any issues quickly
What is the best feature of your home:
The huge back garden, spacious kitchen and double driveway

Buyer beware! Beautiful houses, awful build quality and the worst after-care imaginable.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Location is fantastic, close to all city centre and local amenities, bus routes, countryside. Fennel Avenue is a friendly road, its tidy and well looked after, with only a few cars parked on the road. There is a small amount of social housing and some of the residents have been troublesome resulting in some police visits but things have calmed down recently since the really problematic family were evicted.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Redrow (who used to have a fabulous reputation) have really gone down the tubes. They will cut every possible corner. Sales reps (not all of them, but the one who managed our purchase) will tell you anything to get the sale. When they refer to affordable housing, with only tenants with a link to the locality allowed, they really mean council tenants from anywhere, some of whom are very badly behaved and bring down the tone of the neighbourhood.
Please share one thing (or more) which you would change about your development:
I'd really like my walls and windows to be straight - internally and externally. The front of our house must have been built free-hand, resulting in the bay tiles having to be removed, breeze blocks replaced, window sills trimmed to disguise the incorrect fitting. The walls either side of the front door are 10mm different resulting in the door frame not sitting square. Oh, and when the work on the bay was undertaken (twice because the first time resulted in a membrane being left off the blocks) it resulted in a new squeak in the loft during windy conditions that still hasn't been investigated properly or resolved after being reported over a year ago.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Local shops all a short car journey away. Hackwood Farm is only a short walk and has a great butchers. Closest pub is also very good and only a walk away. No bus route as yet and traffic on the local roads can be quite heavy at peak times. We have had some issues with police visits in the past to the social housing areas late at night. Quite a lot of cars park on the roads and site traffic still uses the road for access despite Redrow saying this would not be happening.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Most of our issues have been fixed, however it has felt like a battle every step of the way and has at times left a bitter taste. Very poor.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Don’t be taken in by promises about fixing issues. Snags will take an age to be fixed and the quality will often be poor.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Lovely location close to amenities, close to green fields and close to the railway line/cycle path. The development has a children’s park which is great for older children would be perfect if they could add a swing for babies. Parking is fine for our plot as we can park side by side. Street parking is limited making it difficult for visitors to park without making it difficult for our neighbours to reverse out of their driveways. Redrow builds have narrow drives, some of the residents can’t open their car doors and have to park on the road rather than in their own driveway. There have been several incidents of antisocial behaviour on the development where the police have had to be called.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
They have been helpful and pleasant. Responded quickly to urgent problems like a water leak but we still have an ongoing problem with our boiler resetting in cold weather. There have been 3 attempts to fix it. We now have to wait until it gets cold and for it to happen again before they’ll organise for this to be fixed. Completion of our snag list has been delayed by the pandemic which building management have no control over.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Don’t get Redrow to turf your garden. The turf quality is poor and they didn’t even flatten the ground before laying the turf!!
