Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
There are some very traditional cosy pubs in the nearby villages which are lovely to walk to, making you feel like you are living in an English country dream. There is little to no noise at all as it is a very quiet village and we have never had any issues with bin collections, traffic noise or anti-social behaviour. I would only say that as a new parent, I am sad to find that there are no play parks anywhere nearby.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
The building management was initially very helpful to solve problems we experienced from our extremely uneven garden (that rendered it unusable) to our underfloor heating pipes that were put in the wrong way round. The building management were also very swift to solve the problem of when our bath pipes leaked and caused a damp wall and mould to grow in our downstairs bathroom. However, of late, we are having to chase for help with an issue with our Heat source pump (this has been ongoing for over a month now with no solution) and also we have raised the issue of deep cracks developing around our house that are “thicker than a pound coin”, and yet it has been nearly a month and we’ve had no response back.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I wish I had known what was around locally or nearby for young children

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
It is such a quaint area to live in, just the way I like it. It’s peaceful close to nature. There are not too many cars for cycling and going out for runs or walks. It’s accessible to Cambridge and London. Bin collections and antisocial behaviour are on point and non existent respectively.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Overall Yes though there are still few snagging issues outstanding after 5 months of moving in.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Not having a door to access the garage directly through the garden. This is quite inconvenient. The schematics at the showhomes of the sales office had the door.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
The local shops are good quality, we have a very convenient shop in the village about a 3-4 minute walking distance from Hayfield estate, which also includes a post office. Tesco express and co op are also up the road about 10-12 mins in Gamlingay/Potton. Big Tesco in st Neots also 15 mins away. 8 mins from village is Morrison’s in Cambourne. All transport links are on average 15-20mins from Great Gransden (Trainline wise). Driving wise, takes 20 mins until you’re on the A1 out of Biggleswade. Living in the street is great, neighbours are lovely. Not happy with the rubbish left by builders at Hayfield though, everyday I either see cigarettes or packets on our landscaping areas around our houses. Can’t wait until they’re gone. Bin collection is superb.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Overall responses have been prompt, however a few times I have had to chase up several times for things. I still have an outstanding snag which has been outstanding since I moved in.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
The option to have additional extras such as more built in wardrobes. If I knew this was possible earlier, I would have requested these.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Positives: Great Gransden has a very low crime rate. It is an award winning village and it is easy to see why when you take a stroll; it’s very quaint, quiet and charming. The local school is superb. The local post office / convenient store store is deceivingly convenient in all it has to offer. There is no noise pollution or ASB on or near Hayfield Avenue. The Cambridge Fish Bar comes to Great Gransden every Thursday and the fish and chips are amazing. Negatives: The only public house (The Crown & Cushion) is still currently closed. The closest restaurant is in Caxton which is No 77 Thai Restaurant & Bar. Many of the ‘Anti-Hayfield Development’ residents in Great Gransden do not like any of the residents on Hayfield Avenue. Opposition is still very raw and strong. There isn’t a local children play park.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
They have responded quickly, politely and efficiently every time.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I wish we had know how little storage we had inside the house. Storage is not something that is spoken of in any detail during the viewings and it’s definitely an important thing to think about early doors. Despite us being very prudent in having built in wardrobes installed as an extra to both bedroom 2 and 3, even now we still struggle. If your house does not have a garage, you’re going to need a shed installed in the rear garden pronto and you’re going to need to research ‘storage hacks’.
