Convenient luxury in a quiet, lovely and safe setting!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

What has our experience over four years of living in Eddington been like? Safe, serene, convenient and a sense of community. Our neighbours are of all ages and come from many different places, so we feel at home. It's quiet, but there's always activity going on here or in town. We're so close to the colleges and green spaces too. However, Storey's Field Centre has many classes and events, and Dulcedo Social cafe makes Eddington Square a fun place to get together or simply relax over a delicious treat and coffee. More shops will open, and everyone is eager for that to happen soon. In Eddington, cycling is ideal, but the luxurious electric bus is always an option and has numerous convenient stops and friendly drivers; however, we do find that it is less reliable than we'd like. With traffic and fewer buses, that's often the case wherever one lives! Bin collections are superb with the underground system that keeps everything tidy and without smell. That's always been excellent. I think this is a great asset to the community.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Order window coverings as soon as possible. Chat with prospective neighbours. You'll get useful tips and form bonds.

What is the best feature of your home:

The light, thoughtful and beautiful spaces and the high quality of the construction. The high ceilings are wonderful and the solidity of the banisters and walls is remarkable. The house feels well built.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Nearby Sainsbury's is great. The hair salon is good. For some reason, it's taking them very long to open more places. The U bus is very good when the traffic is not a problem; it is very unreliable during rush hours.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The bus service is very unreliable, so cycling or a car is much better.

What is the best feature of your home:

It's a pleasure to live in a new building, away from the touristy parts of the town.

Modern condo development in Cambridge

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Probably the most modern set of condo buildings in all of Cambridge, spacious, modern, and all the amenities within walking distance. Very clean, minimalist vibe.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That you have to go the circuitous route to get to either the A14 or M1 from Monday through Friday. It is really annoying that as a resident of the Ash building I can't cut through the school and market in weekdays.

What is the best feature of your home:

Modern and new appliances, under floor heating, noise proof windows.

Cambridge: The best of City and Country

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

This location has the best of both worlds; we are minutes from downtown Cambridge by bicycle or bus, yet birdsong, trees and ponds surround us. I like the friendly, quiet and very safe neighbourhood feeling with a mix of ages and ethnicities. Indeed, we enjoy meeting our neighbours regularly and know we can ask for help whenever needed. The schools, grocery store and other shops add to the liveliness. Parking is not a problem, especially as Park & Ride is a five minute walk away. The excellent underground bin collection keeps Eddington tidy as well.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, it can take a while, and the pandemic made everything more challenging for all. I am confident that things are improving and that the management has not lost sight of priorities.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Wall to wall carpeting, especially on stairs, is best avoided as it is high maintenance and never as clean as bare floors or rugs that can be shaken out. I do wish the stairs were not carpeted, or had only a runner. Also, do order your curtains or blinds ASAP. Privacy can be an issue once you move in, so you might need folding screens until the curtains are installed!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Nice Sainsbury's and a hair salon nearby, but still lacking many other things. Convenient bus with a good route, but some serious timetable issues. Very quiet and peaceful. Personally still probably the best place to live in Cambridge.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I asked something in the building to get fixed. Got a response that it would be done soon. It got fixed over a year later.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The bus timetable is very unrealiable, cannot be trusted, especially, at peak hours.
