Do not buy from countryside homes

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It’s a long walk into town. Bus service is ok especially if you want to go to Stansted airport for £2. Local pub the king William is very clicky and the landlady is not very welcoming

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The fact countryside do not care about you. The rip off maintenance company. The NHBC certificate isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. The constant flow of police officers going to the housing association flats. The fencing that’s falling over in our back garden. The park that we have been paying for has never been finished. The paths are all cracking up. The lack of lighting on the walkways. The litter is never picked up. The place looks like a jungle because the grass is never cut. Lack of trees that should have been planted

What is the best feature of your home:

The front door. We can’t wait to get out of it. The fact that our roof tiles have fallen off after 2 years is not a good sign. We can’t wait to move. Do not buy a new build home. They are paper thin and not built very well. Always problems with something. If it’s not the boiler it’s something else with the hot water system or the heating

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Excellent access to the motorway and good distance from town. Nice and quiet area with friendly community. Good parking across the estate.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They were ok and did help resolve matters but did need chasing on a few

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would say that if you are moving in in the summer or autumn make sure the grass in the garden is being watered and not just left to die.

Good progress but could be improved.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good links to London and other popular nearby locations. Walkable to town centre and train station. More parking could of been a bonus.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Good help in first 2 years. Can be slow but usually sort the problem eventually.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Parking is tight, which makes it awkward getting out of properties.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There's great access to the motorways and it's close to town but not so close that you get lots of through traffic.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They have been quick on most issues, but there have been some things that have lingered.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There isn't anything I can think of really. I feel like we knew a lot going in and there weren't many surprises. Maybe just that internet options are limited.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Local shops are good. Restaurants and bars could be better - not too much choice locally. Train station isn’t too far away however timetable of trains isn’t very often into London which is a problem. Haven’t looked into local buses. Lovely street, still fairly quiet as not everyone has moved in yet. Parking is fine as we have allocated spaces. Bins seems to be collected regularly. No anti-social behaviour or noise from others.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

When buying off plan, we wasn’t aware of the lack of kitchen storage. Would suggest asking for more details if buying off plan!

Please share one thing (or more) which you would change about your development:

More kitchen cupboard/storage/space as it lacks cupboards.
