Northstowe is hell!

Harriet (Tenant)

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Firstly northstowe is cb24 and these reviews everywhere are lies! Living in northstowe is hellish. We have no shops no decent places to socialise no doctors. It's boring and all the trouble in the area is worsening. Its just another mini ghetto like cambourne and Trumpington with lots of vulnerable ha tenants from temporary accommodation all over and refuges etc no support in place

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The community try very hard but it's not working for many vulnerable people here

What is the best feature of your home:

The size if the properties are good which will draw people in but I fully regret moving here. Life is hellish here there's nothing to do without travelling far or sitting in a poxy portacabin community centre which frankly is a joke. The new tap and social bar come community general space is a rip off and to keep the social housing tenants seperate I'm sure! There's a clear 2 tier way of life here and the ghetto side and the posh side clash!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Close to, and easy to commute into, Cambridge. Green Space is good - lakes that have been constructed are very nice. Roads need to be finsihed and properly maintained though.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

All reported problems were dealt with quickly. It was very easy to report problems .

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

When local facilities will be developed, this is still unknown.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I believe local shops etc are still to be provided. There is a definite need. So easy to get to Cambridge by bus which is a 10 minute walk away. Hardly any need for a car. The parking is plentiful but, and it is a big but, the speeding of vehicles along Wellington Road is at times verging on the extremely dangerous. Speed limits should be established and signs erected straight away with cameras sited. Or instal better speed humps than those already there which require no slowing of vehicles at all! Bin collections are regular and efficient. Friendly neighbours.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

As soon as I raised any queries with the building management, they were dealt with very promptly and to my complete satisfaction.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The ease of getting to and from Cambridge and surrounding areas would have influenced my car buying choice. Only really negative comment is the speeding along the road (some of which is by building vans, lorries, delivery lorries).
