Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Towcester is a wonderful town, has the benefits of a smaller town with lots of local shops, restaurants etc. traffic on the a5 is an issue as this is the main route when avoiding the M1.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Infrastructure and amenities wouldn’t be in place for a long time.

What is the best feature of your home:

The floor plan is perfect for a family. We love the open plan kitchen family diner.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Shops are approx 1.5 miles away which is handy, however there’s no local shop in the vicinity. Don’t use local transport so can’t comment. Bin collection is good but there’s always one neighbour who doesn’t take their bin in after collection, sometimes leaving it there for days. Living on my road is a nightmare! Filthy from works traffic and soil movement for the 2 years since we moved in. Our house is painted white brickwork and is absolutely covered in dirt and dust all the time. I could clean my windows every day and they’d still look grubby, our patio is constantly dirty, our cars get covered in the dust every day, we’ve spent a fortune on cleaning our cars and windows since we’ve been here. The streetlight close to our drive has never worked even after many complaints and it’s pitch black at night making walking from our drive to our front door unsafe. The noise from the JCBs, road sweepers, delivery lorries, cranes, cement lorries, fork lifts, soil movement trucks etc for 6 out of 7 days a week is totally unacceptable. The entrance to the land they are accessing is right opposite our front door and the builder has had to put cones along our frontage to enable these vehicles access and turning. They start working approx 7.15am and wake us up every day. There’s supposed to be a speed limit through the estate for work vehicles, and workers vans and cars which is not adhered to with many going over 40 mph.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The disruption of the ongoing building works is a living nightmare. Everything is so dirty all the time.

What is the best feature of your home:

The en suite and bathroom are lovely. The cupboard under the stairs is very useful.

Pros and cons!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

No local shops as yet, good amount of open green spaces. The park is brilliant. Parking would be fine if the builders/contractors used their own car park and didn’t park outside occupied homes. Reliable bin service however council haven’t adopted the roads so pay a yearly maintenance charge. Still not to sure what they do.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I moved in knowing that building would be continuing, however this was two months before lockdown! I wish I’d known we’d be stuck in our homes for a year so I’d have to put up with all the building work noise/dust. Also we were told the land near us would be allotments however it’s now been purchased by Persimmons to build more houses on, would’ve been good to know that because it causes a lot of problems.

What is the best feature of your home:

Family bathroom has both a bath and separate shower. Also master bedroom is a great size.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

In terms of the location of the development, we could not fault it. We are within walking distance to the town centre which offers a wide variety of amenities such as pubs, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, post office, bank and library. Although we haven’t used the public transport there seems to be regular buses throughout the town. We are also very close to Milton Keynes but without the business of city living.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The length and duration of the ongoing development by other building developers.

What is the best feature of your home:

The design makes the most of the space within the property.
