A great place to live

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Godmanchester is a small but perfectly formed town. There is a local butchers, post office, convenience store, Coop, pharmacy, and a handful each of cafés, restaurants and pubs (all with outdoor spaces and dog friendly areas). Huntingdon is a short drive away where you have all the main shops - e.g. M&S food, TK Maxx, Next, Holland and Barratt, Sainsburys, Tesco, Wilko, etc. Buses are fairly frequent, but you really do need a car to live here. The development is very quiet, considering how large it is, and there is a good amount of on-street and off-street parking for visitors. The development and surrounding areas feels very safe and after just over a year living here we’ve yet to find any bad aspects of either the development or the surrounding area, hence the 5-star review.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The driveways are long enough for two family cars and a small shed, so you can remove the shed from within the garden.

What is the best feature of your home:

The large kitchen-diner that leads out onto the garden was the selling point of the house. It is a great entertaining space.

A great modern house

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It is a great location to live. We have a local co-op shop near by which has got all the essentials, fish and chips near to us. We have regular bin collections in this area. There is no anti-social behaviour to report. My friends and families have really liked this area. The only downside is the houses are bit close and the roads could be more broader then they are built.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

If I could have access to our garage from our back garden, which is quite essential as I personally do a lot of work in our garage.

What is the best feature of your home:

Driveway, kitchen island, Fabulous lounge, dining room, master bed room and en-suite in both the bedrooms.

Average quality homes, poor after care

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Godmanchester is a beautiful town with lovely countryside. Its proximity to Huntingdon is a plus however it does not have enoguh direct transport links to London. Romans edge is a new development hence it still lack access to a larger shop and the street is fairly noisy due to nearby construction work. Overal thei neighbourhood is calm and safe.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How difficult it would be to repair all the defects.

What is the best feature of your home:

That its new and has plenty of spare rooms and a nice exterior design.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There is a coop within easy walking distance. The town is about 20/30 minutes walk away with a good range of shops and amenities. Transport links are good with plenty of buses going through the main road on the development. Most homes have at least 2 off road parking spaces which does help reduce the amount of cars parked at the side. Bin collections are easy. Only problem is the speed of cars, there aren’t any traffic flow reductions and there are plenty of kids that walk, bike and scooter, traffic flow management would be good to have. The same is said for the main road outside the development. It may be signposted as 30 but many drivers drive way above it.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The noise from the industrial estate can be noisy particularly at night over the summer months when you have windows open. Some drivers do drive far too fast along the road. Traffic flow management would help, but also drivers driving at reasonable speeds given it’s a built up area with children would be much better.

What is the best feature of your home:

The large garden, off street parking, large garage, large double bedrooms and plenty of power sockets
