St Michael’s Hurst - The build quality of the houses is very good

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Great open spaces, nice designed estate. 10 minute walk to nearest convenience shop. The gardens are small, but as are many new build estates.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

At first they were really good, now there are a few outstanding issues they are so slow to action any work.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Not to trust the brochures provided by the sales team. The specifications I was given were wrong and only came to light during the conveyancing stage.

Generally happy with the house itself, it's a good design and well built, but some very odd/ridiculous build designs.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

A good location, 20 minute walk into town through the country park, lots of filed and public walks going away from town, and good train links into London. We're luck to be in a cul-d-sac so no through traffic and lost of parking on our plot. bin collections regular

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Helpful in the most part, but seem to avoid any problems that will cost them money. The landscaping around our area hasn't been touched for months and looks really untidy, but we're still being charged for maintenance????

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

They failed to advise us that the adjacent properties are significantly higher than ours, so they have clear lines of sight down into our property; we're having to look into one way glass film to provide some sort of privacy. I'm not sure we would've bought this plot knowing what we know now

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Parking situation is awful Everyone on the estate (residents) park in the dedicated visitor bays On purpose we bought a house with a double drive. Everyone complains on the resident blog or Facebook page. Let’s hope car parking enforcement comes in We have lived on the estate 18months and only now the street lights have been turned on. The reason why we chased so much is some people were breaking into cars due to blind spots / dark areas. No bus route yet

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Look in detail of the gardens. Our whole road had gardens on huge slants - someone even had stairs and a rail installed it was that steep Don’t be fooled by “visitor bays”

What is the best feature of your home:

Our double drive as the parking on the estate for visitors is all used by residents and as more people move in it will only get worse

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

This is a great location for bars, shops and restaurants. I am told there are very good schools within the area.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We wish they provided more details on the exact room specifications for instance dimensions.

Please share one thing (or more) which you would change about your development:

Allowing us to choose where to place sockets and radiators

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location and overall neighbour hood is fantastic. The only draw back is there are no local amenities. Everything is at least a 10 min drive away. Having a local shop and other amenities on the development would be a massive addition.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The location of the main drains, and further development plans.

Please share one thing (or more) which you would change about your development:

Larger patio and less of a slope in the back garden.
