Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Within walking distance we have two convenience stores, a post office, a fuel station, MOT centre, community church, sports facilities, two pubs and Reading’s only Michelin Star Restaurant. There are good local schools, play areas, allotments and open areas in which to walk. Wildlife such a rabbits and deer are sometimes spotted close by. The development is conveniently situated for easy access to the M4 motorway as well as to be able to get into into Reading Central however having a car is necessary as public transport links are limited. I feel safe living in this area and have not witnessed any anti-social behaviour. There is a friendly community developing within the complex. Parking is adequate and bin collection is regular. The only thing we don’t have close by are big supermarket chains such as Waitrose, Sainsbury’s or Tesco’s.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
We have been fortunate in that we have had very few issues. When we have had an issue we have been happy with the standard of service received.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
The complex was built in such a way that the heavy vehicles which were building the new houses had to pass by the houses that were already built. Although this is now finished it was frustrating at the time. The houses at the bottom of the development should have been built before the houses at the top of the development to avoid this.
