Happy with my experience

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The building is very conveniently located near the train station, as well as multiple bus stops & surrounding supermarkets, and convenient stores.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They are always helpful & guide you when needed. I have personally not had issues though so far.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The only thing that I am not so happy with is that we have to go all the way down to the reception to bring people in. I think it would be much better if just the downstairs door was open & the hallway doors were locked with the access key.

Enjoy living here. Close to everything Brighton has to offer

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Excellent location in the heart of town, close to everything. Going out in the day or evening is a breeze, everything is walking distance. Sometimes the street can be noisy in the evening or early morning (bin collection) but the sound proofing of the double glazing is excellent so this rarely disturbs

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Usually it takes 1 or 2 days for the lift to be repaired. I haven’t had any building issues in my apartment, everything has worked perfectly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Living centrally close to North Laine and station is really valuable.

The Blockhouse is a great place to live

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The lanes can get busy at night as we are near to bars and the college, things can get a little dirty. Otherwise, the location is absolutely perfect for the best of what Brighton's lanes have to offer.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

very well! Despite inconsistent management and challenges with the developer, we have always received help swiftly and to a good standard.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The building is accessible, but not IDEAL for wheelchair users (not all common doors are easy to use from a wheelchair). Also there is no service lift and only one lift that goes to lower ground - this can be a little annoying when you cannot use stairs.

Very efficiently and smartly. They are very helpful and always quick to respond

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Handling utilities could be quite a task but thankful to the utility partner Home box who have managed the transition quite well

My move to this block was the best decision I have ever made.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Location is perfect. Various good supermarkets all very close by. Lots of restaurants to try out. Train station and major bus routes steps away. Access to a parking space is an issue as I would like to have one but spaces are limited in the block. Bin collections are well organised. Only issues to raise are: 1) the block is right next to a pub and is on the social route home for most people. When closing time approaches we get a lot of noise from the people going by. I feel safe though because we have the security guards at night and I have not encountered any major safety concerns personally. 2) Aldi is right next door and the delivery trucks arrive at all hours of the day which can be very noisy. My flat is right next to it so it is probably just my side that gets the full exposure to the noise and even with the windows closed it is quite loud.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Always quick to resolve an issue although I think when I first moved in there was no maintenance person but I believe that was resolved quickly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would have liked to have known more about the fan above the cooker. I think I would have considered a different flat if I had. I would have also liked a bit more guidance on the council tax because as it was a new build it was a nightmare to get that sorted. Other than those points I am enjoying my time here immensely.
