Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The good parts to this development is having an Aldi store within meters of the estate. Also excellent access to other shops as the retail park is only a 3 minute drive away with Hamilton town centre only a 5 minute drive away. There are bus stops within a short walk distance away along with a postbox at one. The nearest train station is about 3 minutes drive away also. The private houses look superb as you drive in, all looking modern with excellent prospects of becoming a family home to many families, then you see the council housing part of the estate. The houses do look lovely from the outside apart from some, were they think it is acceptable to leave bags of rubbish or cardboard sitting outside the front of the house, hoping they might disappear or someone else will move the rubbish for them. There are no disabled parking spaces, although disabled people live in the council houses. Looking from the top of Tenter Place you can see people that hang their washing out to dry from the balcony of the council flats, that really makes the estate look like something you see if you holiday in Benidorm. There a bin shed attached to the flats that really stink. There are metal bins overflowing with bin bags and spilling onto the ground, some burst open, that will encourage rats. If your out, walking about, you have to step out of the road of bicycles, scooters and skateboards that are just left lying on the pavements along with dog poo. The council homes have a lot of kids about which makes it really noisy at times and some can be really cheeky. Although the private houses look superb, if we where buying we would not buy here, due to what we see at the council houses.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That there are no signs displaying no ball games,as cars are being damaged due to kids playing football in the car park.

What is the best feature of your home:

The open plan living room and kitchen are very spacious along with the bedrooms. Excellent for us and our kids.

Poor experience with Muir Homes. Wish I had bought with another developer.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The transport links are great for the motorway, and a bar and takeaway in Glenboig which are busy. Train station easily accessible.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How bad the Muir homes customer service and after care was.

What is the best feature of your home:

Layout is probably the only good thing about the property.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Some local shops ie Aldi ,Boots, Tesco, doctors surgery. 1 mile walk to train station with link to Glasgow, many more major supermarkets, fast food places, several restaurants. So very well placed. An hourly bus route passes development giving access to Hamilton town and East Kilbride. Not many open spaces close by but Strathclyde park is a 2 mile walk away or a 10 minute drive. Although very close to a main road there is very little traffic noise. Bin collections seen to have settled more into a routine now as development increases. No antisocial behaviour noted so far and as the development is in its infancy there has been no parking issues. Over all I think a very well placed development.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

More information on the registration process for solar panels, as this is not easy and requires missing paperwork from the installers. More information on the heating controls.

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature is the large bright kitchen which opens out onto a large flat gardenp

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Lovely street within a great development. Easy parking (most have private driveways though there is plenty on-street parking too).

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

To lower my expectations of the developer, Story Homes, in terms of after sales service and dealing with snagging issues. They claim to have been housebuilder of the year! (Lol)

What is the best feature of your home:

Great street within a super development. South west facing garden is excellent in summer.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Biggar is a vibrant town with good transport connections and a thriving high street. Good local services, including doctors, dentists, sports centre, library, etc. Very peaceful, yet with good road access to both Edinburgh and Glasgow and a reasonable bus service to Edinburgh.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I feel I was very lucky with the position of my house, meaning the garden is particularly open and not overshadowed by other houses. It is difficult to get a feel for that from looking at a plan.

What is the best feature of your home:

Good sized garden and attractive development. Great local services.
