A lovely community with huge potential let down by Inland Homes and A2Dominion

The Brooklands Park development benefits from a good high street location with strong transport links and access to shops. Ashford has great local business entities like The Jolly Baker, M2 Pizza Pasta, Elle and Fee, Two Brothers Fish House & Tamannas. As well as a selection of other recognisable high street chains. The residential community here is very strong and a majority neighbours are friendly and supportive ofeach other. It is let down by Crime and Anti-social behaviour which, to be clear, is not from Residents that reside in the area but rather external parties that target it due to the proximity with the high street. Which is a shame as the estate is a dead end and should be relatively quiet, people from outside the area have no reason to be here. Bin collections are an ongoing issue due to strict council policies.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known the rental and service charge policies of my future landlord A2Dominion.

What is the best feature of your home:

Good layout and interior space with flexibility for furnishing.

Flats are in a very convenient location at the heart of Ashford high street, can be loud at times with motorbikes etc. but overall very good.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

If I had known that the building was managed by A2 Dominion I would not have bought it. Their service is appalling & non-existent. The residents pay such high (& increasing!) service charges, for very little service.

What is the best feature of your home:

The bathroom design - I get compliments from every visitor

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Very convenient for shops, takeaway restaurants & beauty facilities. Very insulated building as once windows are closed, the outside noise/traffic (if any) cannot be heard.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I have had a couple of issues under defects (aerial issue & air filter issue). Both were sorted but took 1 month + to be done.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

My only concerns would be the issues with the lift & the poor communication regarding the break down of it. If I had known the service from A2 Dominion would be so poor I would have reconsidered buying my first property here. I have no issues with Fabrica.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Love the local area, lots of restaurants and shops. Transport is great, buses to the high street and the train station around the corner if you don’t drive. We have two spaces so no parking problems for us, however we have been fined once in our own space ! We have also had a lot of issues with the gates and we are not sure if this is something we are having to pay for, when really it should be the development, as this many issues shouldn’t occur so early on. Bins had a fly infestation, it took the development about a month to get this sorted which is not on. Since then it’s been sorted, however it could still do with a deep clean as you can see where all the flies have died. There was one really bad tenant over the road in Filby House but they have now gone. Parcels getting stolen is a massive thing and it seems like the development have not wanted to help us at all with this, they have put up poxy signs which does nothing.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

None existent with security, not fixed half of the things I have raised to them.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

This is meant to be a shared ownership block, although the majority of our neighbours are lovely, there are a minority who let us down. I would have thought because people have put money into these flats that they would look after the shared parts of the building better.

Beautiful development has major issues

Great location for shops but local kids cause issues in and out of the development. Anti social behaviour and theft on the development The grounds are not looked after and the car park gates are continuously out of order.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

If I get a response it's two weeks late and never resolved.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

If you have a young family it's probably not for you purely due to the anti social behaviour and lack of control from the building management. The building management's priority is completely wrong. Let kids play, let the residents have pets (within reason) and crack down on the drugs and antisocial behaviour. Security is required onsite.
