If you're thinking of moving to this part of London - Do it!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Camberwell is a nice part of South London, well connected on the bus routes, but no immediate links to the tube network. The estate is alright, it's a mix of new build and council homes and at times there can be a lot of petty theft. Generally pretty quiet area, and roads are very quiet, especially since the low emission zone was installed on Benhill Road in 2020.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

It's a lucky dip on the level of service you will get each time. Generally if it is an access issue, they are quick to respond, but anything more complex or questions about service charges can drag on for months without any resolve. DJC Management and Peabody are the two companies involved, and both seem not very good.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

From a good perspective I didn't realise how friendly and nice the area is, we know our neighbours which is rare for London. Bad side is I wish I had read up more on service charges and incompetent management companies.

Our development is generally very nice and features a large courtyard with parking, a playground, communal seating and cycle storage.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Great location close to central London but with the lovely Camberwell on our doorstep - green Open spaces, lots of cool shops and a great vibe. Close to Peckham and East Dulwich/Herne Hill. Love the diversity of the neighbourhood. Good transport links in terms of buses. Dislike lack of alternative public transport options close by.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

If I’d known about the address problems then I would have raised this issue with the developer. It seems like a relatively small issue but causes us problems most days.

Please share one thing (or more) which you would change about your development:

The layout of our master bedroom feels ill thought out and is an awkward plan. I’d like an extra 500mm at the bottom of the bed because we can’t really even fit a headboard at the moment.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Lots of great cafes and restaurants. Also great to be so close to a beautiful park.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Wish we’d known that the bike sheds weren’t as safe as they were advertised to us as.

What is the best feature of your home:

The balcony is a good decent size and we have a great view of trees and the city.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

This development is perfectly located and central to popular clothes shops and restaurants that serve a range of dishes from all over the world. My favourite is cool and cozzy who serve delicious west African food! Many local bus stations and train stations which can connect you to the city within minutes.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Maybe a local guide and to be directed to a community page where local community events take place to have the opportunity to get involved in things like that

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Camberwell is a great location - both central London and the outskirts of London are easily accessible. Lots of buses which take you to London bridge, Shoreditch, Greenwich as well as having elephant and castle, kennington' and oval tube stations close by. Denmark hill also provides a fast route into Victoria via southeastern trains as well as providing an overground service. Within Camberwell, eating out is easy - Camberwell church Street is filled with all different types of cuisines including some exceptionally rated restaurants. Living close to the huge green space that is Burgess park is also a blessing - there is a BBQ area with permanent BBQs (or you can bring your own) which is great in the summer!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Perhaps I could've asked about what building materials were used throughout the flat so that I knew what fixings I needed to hang things on the wall etc. But I found these out from developer after I moved in.

Please share one thing (or more) which you would change about your development:

Difficult question but maybe the kitchen - I tiled the backsplash myself but it would've been great if it came with it done!
