PLATFORM_ in Edinburgh

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

As the Platform development is in the Leith area of Edinburgh, there is an abundance of shops from the local convenience shops, to two Tesco superstores and a Lidl within a radius of a ten to fifteen minute walk. Leith Walk with plenty of bars, and restuarants again is a fifteen minute walk, and you are within a short walk to Pilrig and St. Marks park. Should you wish to travel further afield, the local excellent bus service will take you into the centre of Edinburgh in ten minutes. The Plafrom development has been built in a quiet residential area, with no anti-social behaviour or traffic noise, so if it is a riotous neighbourhood you wish to live in, Platform is not for you.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

In regard to any issues that I have had with my flat, the maintenance team have resolved these very quickly and interactions with the team; Matt and Arek, have been nothing but professional and their knowledge of the property and services in the apartment is first class.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

After sixteen years, unfortunatley I had to move from my previous flat. I viewed various developments and properties around Edinburgh. My main reason for choosing Platform, was that the agent who showed me around; Jay. His friendly nature, professionalism, and in depth knowldge of any questions that I had were easily answered.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

We love the quietness of the place. The traffic is not too crowded either. The shops are in a good walking distance not too far. There are Lidl, Tescos, Asda available for daily shopping within about 15-20 mins walk. A small convenience store is about 2 mins walk away. The buses run here quite frequently and the tram is not far either. There is a park nearby with a playground, which is good for families. The area is kept clean and tidy also safe.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The management team is very approachable and wants their residents to feel really at ease and home. They are effectively dealing with issues.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It was really good to have the concierge trolleys available when moving. It did make our moving easier and quicker. We suggest using them, they are really helpful. We wish there are more parking spaces on the street, they starting to fill up quickly. There are restrictions on the windows, it just would be nice to have them open a bit wider sometimes even for cleaning. But we understand it is a legal requirement to keep them at a certain width.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Bonnington is very central to walk into Leith , Good selection of shops , Transport links into central Edinburgh or down to the beach at Crammond or Portobello . . Lots of new restaurants opening now and Leith has it's own festival and Blue's and Jazz weekend's in June . I have no traffic noise.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

A wee bit of water leaking under sink in kitchen , dealt with very swiftly and all is good now

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

A welcome pack would be great , I am local and have worked in Leith since 2013 so know lots of local information , A lot of new tenants are moving to Edinburgh for the first time . We need a file Paper NOT EMAIL to keep on each flat Local doctors surgery's , Hospital numbers , Local primary schools , chemist, s post office, banks , where the local buses go etc , I have helped a few of the new tenants out with local information

Great area to live in so easy to get into the city centre with fantastic transport opportunities within walking distance, there is also a good selection of supermarkets within walking distance too, and there is some fab independent coffee shops nearby as well not to mention the water of leith is nearby to get the steps in.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Always helpful and no problem is too much trouble I have had no issues.
