Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is quite quiet and the neighbours are lovely and respectful. Parking is relatively easy and bin collection is regular. Only criticism would be that in comparison to the Durban Mill site (where we lived previously), the local shop closes quite early and there isn’t as many transport links into Manchester.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They are quick with responding with issues we have had in our home and getting the relevant contractors out to sort any issues.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It would have been useful to see our property first however simple life homes go quite quickly. Reason I say this is because we had a baby and didnt realise there are stairs to get into our house, this can be quite a pain.

The Good, The Bad and the Muddy

James R (Tenant)

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good location close to shops and motorway short drive away. Some problems with partying during the Summer unsociable levels of Music etc.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Moved in pre Covid with a list of snags that were postponed when Covid came around. Repairs have been back 6 months and still have repairs outstanding.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The Gardens are terrible, pools of Mud in the Wet months then dry dirt in the Summer when all the grass has died from the water retention.

Manager response

Hi James, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're sorry to hear you are having problems with your garden. If you haven't already, we would invite you to report your garden issues to your Property Manager so that we can investigate this for you. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by any delayed repairs as a result of Covid. Unfortunately, like many industries, we were restricted for a certain period to being allowed to access homes for emergency repairs only. We can see your review was written in October, and I can confirm that the backlog of repairs should be up to date now so I do hope everything has been sorted for you. If there is anything still outstanding or you have any concerns, please feel free to contact us so we can look in to and resolve any issues you might have. We're delighted to hear that you're happy with your home, the safety of the location for children and also the communal grounds maintenance - thank you so much for this feedback.

Simple life keeping it simple

Ikki T. (Tenant)

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

One of the best thing is the primary school which is only 7min walk from our house. And there is a convenience shop, salon, fish bar and cafe near the school too. There are quite a few bus stops near our location as well. I just wish there was a community park inside the shre4close area specifically for the simple life residents so the kids could play there rather then playing on the street whoch no doubt is still safer then the other streets. Neighbours are friendly and helping. There's no parking issues. Just lack of a small community park inside the development.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We have had some issue with the kitchen cabinet and it was resolved in a couple of days.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I found peace, joyqnd secured since we moved here. The alarm system at the front door and the sensors give us peace of mind. The Hortmann heating programme is very useful esp. if you qre going on holidays. You can set the timer and it will keep the house warm on your return.

Newly Built and Maintained Property

Hari (Tenant)

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There is no traffic noise and the community is not disturbed by any noises or city traffic. But its easily accessible as well just 5 mins drive to Middleton city centre where there are supermarkets ,bus stands etc.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building management can be more responsible in answering the property issues faced by tenant. There was an email dropped to property manager and still havent got a reply yet and was unable to get hold off him in Phone as well.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would have known more about property management.
