Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Building is one street away from the city centre, so there are many restaurants and shops within walking distance . Train and bus station are around the corner and there are many good connections to London, Oxford, and for example the university of reading. There is also a supermarket right next door. No need to worry about bin collections since every floor has its own trash-shutes were you can drop off your garbage with ease. Apart from the occasional noise coming from the hallway when people pass by, the apartment is pretty much sound proof and I have experienced minimal traffic noise (my apartment is looking out on the station) and anti-social behaviour in the past two months of living here.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Any issues that have come up were always quickly resolved by management.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Some general remarks and small things I found out over time: There are four private working pods, two on the ground floor with glass doors and two on the first floor without any doors. The pods on the first floor are placed directly next to the open kitchen en living room (gathering space), which can occasionally be noisy. There is an entrance to the building directly next to the supermarket's entrance, which is very convenient. Say you need to quickly pick up some extra ingredients. If you want to make use of the parcel room, you should use postcode RG11HR so it will be directly delivered there. Big pieces of garbage or cardboard have to go to the amenities in the basement or mezzanine respectively.
