Living in the Edge

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Canada Water offers an ideal mix of city living and green spaces. Surrey Quays Shopping Centre has all the essentials, and the area is growing with new cafés, restaurants, and bars adding to the vibrant scene. Southwark Park and the Thames Path provide perfect spots for walks, runs, and fresh air. Transport is a dream—Canada Water Station connects to the Jubilee Line and Overground, making Canary Wharf and central London minutes away. Buses are frequent, making travel even easier. The neighborhood is safe, clean, and quiet with minimal traffic noise. Bin collections are reliable, and while parking is limited, the strong transport links make it manageable. There’s a great community feel, making it a fantastic place to live.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management at Porter’s Edge has been nothing short of fantastic. Anytime I’ve raised an issue, whether it’s a maintenance request or a general inquiry, they’ve been quick to respond and genuinely helpful. The concierge team is friendly and proactive, making sure residents feel heard and supported. From fixing minor repairs to keeping the communal areas spotless, their attention to detail is impressive. It’s clear that they care about the tenant experience, and their professionalism makes living here smooth and stress-free. Having such a reliable management team adds real value to the overall quality of life in the building.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing I wish I had known before moving in is just how much of a community vibe Porter’s Edge has—it’s not just an apartment complex, it’s a little world of its own. The residents here are incredibly diverse, with a mix of professionals, creatives, and families from all over, which makes for some truly interesting (and sometimes hilarious) group chat moments. Need advice on the best running routes? You’ll get a full breakdown, complete with Strava segments and hydration strategies. Thinking of redecorating? Someone’s bound to have a spare paint roller and a Pinterest board ready to go. But be warned—ask where to find the best coffee, and you might accidentally start a café loyalty card war. All jokes aside, the sense of community is genuinely one of the best things about living here. Whether it’s impromptu rooftop tennis matches, coffee shop meetups, or getting sidetracked playing with the dogs in the communal garden, there’s always a sense of connection. It’s the kind of place where neighbors quickly turn into friends—just be ready for some lively WhatsApp notifications at all hours (and a group admin who tries, and fails, to keep things on topic).

Great place to live

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Porter’s Edge is strategically positioned in Canada Water and has great connections both to Canary Wharf and the City. It has great gym and MUGA space. There is good selection of supermarkets around and Ocado delivers too. Unfortunately, there is a significant increase in the anti-social behaviour right in front of Canada Water Library but it seems this is the trend mostly across London.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The current building manager is very prompt in responding to queries.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is nothing that I wish I knew before moving in, I had all details which I required at the time.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Lacking pubs and restaurants, good for commute into central london. Could have more amenities to make living here more attractive.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Really well, quick with responses and took necessary measures

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Lots of mice! Had a mouse problem despite clean living conditions.

Lovely block of flats, close to centre of town but quietly removed

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Great convenience for supermarkets and a quiet area to live in general. This quiet can be a little disconcerting when travelling alone at night

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building management have always been responsive by email and on the phone to any queries/concerns we have raised.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The Jubilee line can be quite busy in the morning so having numerous routes to work is helpful.

Never want to move out!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I am obsessed with living in Canada water! Such a safe community that has easy access to most parts of London due to the jubilee line and the overground. In terms of restaurants, these are limited, however a lot of renovation work is getting down in the area so this could all change. There are many nice areas to go for walks in and the area is mainly quiet in terms of road noise. There are some issues with the sound of building work and from the event spaces.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very quick at helping me with any problems I arise. They often follow up on the problem to see if it has been resolved.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

- double check the building work noise from your specific building and see how it will effect you
