The Ryanair of house builders, and that's offensive to Ryanair!!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

No bins anywhere nearby, the roads are an appalling mess as the building continues, paths are constantly closed and you have to walk on the roads. Nobody seems to care, which is why the houses are built the way they are.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Slowly, sending one contractor after another to try to "fix the problems".

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The boasts their website makes about being energy-efficient, good quality build and customer service satisfaction guaranteed. It's all lies and I wouldn't waste your money buying a Keepmoat home.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The local bus route drives through the High View estate. There is plenty of parking for residents of Masseys View. However there are some issues with teenagers in the park opposite Masseys View.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They did attend eventually to try and fix the issues, however I needed to replace all of the faulty items.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Have all of the plumbing and electrics tested before you buy.

Mainly quiet and well maintained

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There are corner shops within five minutes walk and pubs a bit further away but plenty of them if you get a taxi. There are practically no footpaths so sharing the roads with cars can be hazardous as some drivers are careless. The park off Masseys View is nice for dog walks and playing with kids, even if vandals break the equipment. At least the council keeps it maintained and clears the rubbish people leave. The estate is perfectly placed for the major roads, MetroCentre, Newcastle, Morrisons. If you like walking you will never run out of nice walks including the nearby Derwent Walk and Shibdon Pond.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We are lucky to have had a great landlord for the past five years.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There are still a lot of new houses going up and the hill road down to Morrisons can get muddy and congested.

Look Nice, but shoddy build quality

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Location is good; close to metro centre & Newcastle city centre with easy transport links. However, being built in the valley of the river Tyne the area has a lot of hills which can be exhausting to get around by foot.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Do their best to get out of fixing any issues, with poor excuses and long timeframes in the hope you give up.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The usual comments on new build quality are true, these houses won't last.

Money before Customer

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Shops are just a 10 minute walk down the hill. No bars or pubs close by but you can walk to Swalwell or Whickham for restaurants and pubs. The bus leaves right in the estate which is handy. Bin collections are regular and on time. Parking is on-street parking and available. Some anti-social behaviour and noise from the playground behind the estate which can be frustrating, especially when working from home.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very slowly. It seems as if the customer care team is in need of a diary management course. We have been given multiple dates during which nobody showed up, or we have been told that they “simply forgot.” This then leaves is with more problems and another month of waiting for snagging to be fixed.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The amount of stress caused by snagging issues on a newbuild house. We should have hired professional snaggers straight away.
