A harsh and brutal way to live with improper management and bad dealing

KX N1C resident (Tenant)

Jul 2023

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

24 hr noise, low air quality, constant huge building works, dust and grit, so much noise, no cars & no pets policy, bad management, a harsh way to live

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Building is not in compliance with fire escape recommendations Lack of management makes it dangerous environment Tenants have no voice whatsoever Social housing tenants were violated in their rights to a say in local developments being removed from them and we have been totally played by management and local developers

What is the best feature of your home:

That sounds doesn’t travel much between flats so I don’t have to hear the day to say noise of next door or upstairs neighbours.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There are perks of central location and cleanliness. But there is no green space accept where dogs walk which has made it hazardous for children. The spaces are occasionally used privately. The shops are far in excess of normal household budget. The buildings we suffer being made are mostly off limits to residents. Deep mind wouldn’t even do an out reach with the Primary School across the road from them.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

By ignoring. They will promise help but then fail to fulfil. They will phone and if you don’t answer you are then written off. Mostly once you have complained they axe you completely. They take your money and you are no longer a human being to them.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That there was going to be construction works on anything like this level and that the landlord housing officers and building management officers would evaporate.

Nice Place to Live

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The place is nice. The transport is excellent as the bus stop is just outside the building. The only challenges are: - Car parking for us and our visitors - No hair saloons - Play areas for children - not adequate convenient stores - Not enjoying the balcony due to dust caused by ongoing construction work. - No Resident meetings in order to build a cohesive community

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

At times we get lots of mail without a proper follow-up

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The amount of daily dust that I have to deal with. Places of interest. Play areas for children.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I'd known that neighbouring developments would take so long to get going!

A larger kitchen would be great - I'd love a breakfast bar.
