House and development design is modern and spacious with tall ceilings in the houses and balconies on many of the flats.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Close to tube and overground. Mill Hill high street has good amenities And Mill Hill Park is great. Plenty of nurseries and schools nearby. Crime is quite high. Buses could come more frequently ideally. Free parking can be difficult to find.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The lack of visitor parking or free alternatives.

Please share one thing (or more) which you would change about your development:

It would be good to have a loft for more storage and to have better quality grass in the garden.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Teenagers and young adults from nearby developments gather around the park in the late evenings usually drinking and partying. Recent police patrols have reduced this occurrence. A few car breakins have occurred along with a daybreak theft of a Toyota Prius catalytic converter.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Colindale is up and coming, with plenty of green spaces and new builds going up -and you have to buy with this in mind. It's a bit far from central london if you are used to living Zones 1-2, but an easy commute to/from work (about an hour to the City or the West End). A car is a must, as most supermarkets are 20-30 mins walk away and there are few activites in the area. Brent Cross and Hampstead Heath are a few tube stops away, most nice independent shops are in Mill Hill, the best restaurants are in Bang Bang Oriental, and King's Cross is a big draw. However, you are now only an hour's drive from Cambridge, Oxford, and the Cotswolds! It takes about the same time to get to St Albans as to King's Cross! The council flats beside the development are a detriment to the area at the moment (even though the area is safer than alot of other parts of London), as 3 of our neighbours were broken into soon after completion and we even had our Milk & More juice swiped from outside our front door.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

You must use Barratt London's recommended mortgage broker and conveyancer, especially if you are using Help to Buy, as they won't communicate with yours. We wasted alot of time going around in circles before switching to using their mortgage broker and then the process got alot smoother. The onsite team were immensely helpful, but the person who was meant to help us exchange provided us with very little information and working with them was like pulling teeth -to the extent that she almost lost us the flat! There was very little information throughout on how the build was coming along, what date we might complete by, and virtually no information on what the process would be. We very suddenly got a completion date 1 week earlier than planned, whilst we were on holiday. It was a nice surprise that worked in our favour, but I would have liked to have known more about the process from exchange to completion, how the build was coming along, and what was coming next. Definitely get Housescan to create your snag list, as you will be on a high from completing and won't notice 90% of snags in those 3 days you have to create the list. That was the best investment we made. You should be aware that Barratt's affordable homes come with bare concrete floors, unless you pay for their overly expensive flooring options. Their customer service suggested we could get it much cheaper elsewhere, and we were really happy with getting luxury vinyl throughout thanks to Tapi Carpets at half the price Barratt London quoted us. They include lighting in the bathrooms, but the rest of the flat will need lampshades or pendants.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Not gated at night occassionally people hanging around upkeep good every other day safe but lighgs arent worki g A njce area and great mai tenance but sainsburys far and gym far you wpild have to take a car to drive to them. Ther is a sainsburys local but it is very limited and from this sideof the development it still isn't that convenient. Nevertheless the upkeeep is very good with maintenance every two days and a large amount of bins. Good fdeling of spaciousness and green areas but issues with service and internet access. Apparently there are plans for the developer to improve the mobile service.
